Agiresin©: The Case for Polymers
Our controlled release antimicrobial system is one of the few that can survive extrusion/molding temperatures:
Our particles are thermally stable, and our anti-microbial can be processed at high temperatures.
Agiresin is a colloidal suspension and particles in this form do not settle, so it will mix better with a polymer system before processing (extrusion).
As a nanoparticle, Agiresin© should improve the mechanical properties of polymers.
As a nanoparticle, Agiresin© will blend better with polymer, creating a more uniform distribution; and,
Lastly, the surface of our Agiresin nanoparticle can be made hydrophilic or hydrophobic depending on the polymer system of interest.
The Agiresin© Effectiveness
Our controlled release antimicrobial, Agiresin©, is effective against gram positive, gram negative bacteria (including methicillin-and vancomycin resistant bacteria) as well as fungi and viruses.
Agiresin© with significantly higher potency requires lower antimicrobial dosages with a lower environmental footprint and lower non-bacterial cellular interactions. The key features of our antimicrobial are:
- An enormous increase in surface area, resulting in more coverage with lesser particle amounts. Compared to micron-sized particles that is an 1000x increase in surface area coverage.
- Faster, more efficient ion exchange due to the shorter distance the molecules have to travel;
- Ability to penetrate and destroy bacteria from the inside out.

Test Results for Agiresin F (FRAg: fast release) and Agiresin S (SRAg: slow release)
