3 in 1 skin protection system

Exposure to the sun is responsible for major detrimental health effects with increasing incidence of skin cancer, sunburns and photo allergies. Sunscreens containing avobenzone, the organic molecule that absorbs UV rays in sunlight, undergoes photodegradation and needs to be replaced periodically, usually every 2 hours, and other molecules are often added to provide stability.

AvoPalladin© introduces a new technology of UV skin protection to improve the environmental lifetime, effectiveness and cost performance of avobenzone with whole wavelength range protection, including the High Energy Visible (HEV) Light, or Blue Light Range. This composite material system encapsulates the avobenzone in our collodial zeolite that both serves as the host for the organic sun blocker and scatters sunlight. Encapsulation of the avobenzone increases its stability and minimizes skin contact. The uniqueness of our product is the combination of both sun blocking and sunlight scattering into a composite photostable material.

Improved Stability

Avobenzone decomposes upon sun exposure. By encapsulating it in the collodial zeolite, stability is indefinitely improved. At the same time, toxic photodecomposition products as well as photostabilizers of avobenzone are eliminated.

Reduced Toxicity

Avobenzone can be toxic with skin contact. Encapsulating avobenzone decreases the toxicity of sunscreen product.

Combined UV-A, UV-B and High Energy Visible (HEV) Light Protection

In our product, encapsulation results in the red shift of UV absorption of the organic sunblocker to include the High Energy Visible (HEV) Light, or Blue Light Range. Scattering by AvoPalladin© also enables UVB protection from sunlight.
